Hi Kimberly,

You have chosen a very interesting topic, but what I want you to focus on are the aspects of economy and society that show phenomena similar or related to phase transitions and other collective behaviors. There are many such examples. For example, the formation of nations, languages and religions show similarities to condensation of vapor into liquid droplets. Society shows sometimes abrupt changes - revolutions - which are related to phase transitions: both are sudden and dramatic changes of behavior.
